Not all teeth are created equal and the coloring varies from person to person but there are several very common things, that can contribute to the darkening of your teeth over time—things you might not even expect, like diet, smoking, age, trauma, tooth decay and medications.
Transform your smile using porcelain veneers, which serve as overlays on your natural teeth. If you simply want to cover up discoloration or have teeth that are chipped or cracked, this is a perfect option to meet your smile goals. We can typically provide this treatment in just two office visits, making it one of many fast, effective solutions for you to choose from.
If you’re looking for a full cosmetic improvement to your smile and need repair then our porcelain veneers could be the perfect option. A veneer is an overlay with a thin layer of fine or decorative material. Not only can we change the color of your teeth with porcelain veneers, but we can also change the shape, length and even alignment, creating a straighter, more naturally vibrant smile that you’re sure to be proud of.
If you have chipped, spotted, discolored or gapped teeth, bonding is a cosmetic dentistry procedure just might be the right treatment solution for you. Through our process, we use modern materials that are the same shade, translucency, and texture of your teeth creating a perfect match. Our goal is to have the end result appear as if no treatment was performed.
Imagine what this can do or your self-confidence? With this treatment smiling will become much more natural with the new and improved appearance of your teeth. When you have small defects in your teeth, bonding is the material of choice we recommend and the end results are priceless. Call us today and see if bonding could be the right option for you!
When you have a missing tooth with two perfectly healthy teeth on each side, a bridge is one of our many safe and effective treatment options for you. The procedure for a fixed bridge is really the same as having a crown made except a bridge involves at least two supporting teeth. To replace one missing tooth, it requires a three-tooth bridge, just so there’s no confusion. The teeth on both sides of the missing tooth must be part of the bridge to provide support, and most bridges are made of porcelain.
Even though all of the teeth of the bridge are physically connected, the final result makes it look like the teeth are individual and natural. At Flower Mound Dental, we make sure all preparation and work is done with excellence to give you the most comfortable and superior dental experience available. Give us a call and let’s see if a bridge is the right treatment option for you.
Cracked teeth don’t have to be bothersome or an eyesore any longer. Using a simple crown, the entire damaged tooth can be covered with a porcelain case. The first step is to prepare the tooth to receive a crown, which requires reduction of the tooth so that our lab has enough room to produce a natural look-alike. We then take an impression and select the proper color for the temporary to be custom created.
Once the lab creates the crown, it’s placed and adjusted to fit your specific needs and liking. Our job is to communicate completely with the lab anything you want in your new crown so that it fits naturally with your surrounding teeth. This includes the look and feel of the bite as well as the color. If you have a damaged, cracked or chipped tooth, our porcelain crowns could be the perfect fit for you. Give us a call and let’s get the conversation started today!

Inlays & Onlays
Often when you hear cosmetic dentistry, you only think about the teeth upfront that you can see, but the back teeth can also need restored and repaired. Back molars have what are called cusps, which are the pointed or rounded projection coming out of the tooth that are used to chew. Typically a molar has four cusps and bicuspids or pre-molars have two. When these cusps get chipped or damaged, we can use crowns or also what we call inlays or onlays to restore the tooth to full functionality.
A crown is used normally when there is severe damage to all of the cusps and it covers up the entire tooth, but if not all the cusps are fractured or broken, we can do an onlay. This serves to cover up one or more of the damaged cusps while retaining some of the tooth above the gum line. Alternatively, when the cusps of the tooth are all healthy and structurally sound, we can restore the surrounding structure of the tooth but leave the cusps intact by performing an inlay.
Both inlays and onlays are made of porcelain and help to restore your teeth’s functionality in a way that is comfortable, durable and effective. Give us a call and let’s find which one of our dental solutions will work best for you.
