Preventative Dental Care Tips
What steps to take if you can’t make it to see your dentist for routine, preventative care.
1.) Brush and floss your teeth every day.
Brushing and flossing helps remove dental plaque, a sticky film of bacteria (germs). If plaque builds up on your teeth, it can cause tooth decay or gum disease.
2.) Brush your teeth with fluoride toothpaste twice a day. Brush after breakfast and before bed.
3.) Floss between your teeth every day. If you have trouble flossing, ask us about using a special brush or pick instead.
4.) Watch for changes in your mouth.
Your risk of getting oral cancer increases as you get older. If you see any changes in your mouth, just give Mary a call to chat about it.
